Choosing smart lighting

Smart lighting can save energy and make a room easier to live in, but not every option suits every house.

Bulbs or switches

Smart bulbs are simple to fit, but they need the wall switch left on. Smart switches replace the switch itself and usually need a neutral wire, which older homes may not have.

• Pick one system so everything works together.
• Keep a normal way to turn the lights on.
