Retiling a small bathroom is possible in a weekend if the walls are sound and you plan the cuts before you start.
Preparation
- Remove the old tiles and check the wall behind them.
- Use a waterproof board around the shower.
- Set out the rows so the cut tiles sit in the corners.
Tiling and grouting
Work from a level batten, let the adhesive set overnight and grout the next day. A good silicone seal around the bath keeps the water out.
If the wall crumbles when the old tiles come off, stop and get it repaired first.
